  1. On your favorite web browser, visit the web site:

  2. Download the current version of the Citrix Workspace app for Windows offered:

  3. Look for the downloaded disk image (DMG) file in your Downloads folder, click to open it:

  4. Double-click on the installation package to start the install:

  5. When prompted to confirm if you wish to run the installer program. click on the "Allow" button:

  6. Proceed with the installation of the Citrix client, following the wizard - no changes are needed from the default options. Once you reach the completion of the installation wizard, check the box to "Add Account" and click on the "Continue" button:

  7. When prompted to remove the installer, select "Move to Trash", as we won't need it further at this point:

  8. In the initial step of the connection wizard, enter the College Virtual Desktop server address:
    Then you can click on the "Continue" button:

  9. Proceed to sign in to the Citrix server with your OSU credentials:

  10. In the next prompt, select the "COEStore" account option:

  11. Once the Citrix Workspace app fully loads, you will be able to select the "Desktops" section where you can find the "COE" connection. You can click on it to open the Virtual Desktop connection:

  12. That will start loading up the Windows Virtual Desktop computer in a new window. However if you encounter this error:

    Once you have installed the security certificate, you will need to restart the Citrix Workspace app again and return to step #11.

  13. When the Virtual Desktop connection is established, you may get this security prompt about disk access (from the Virtual Desktop to your Mac's hard disk):

    Check the box to "Don't ask me again" and click on the option "Read & Write" to grant the Virtual Desktop access to your local disk so you can store or access files between the College Virtual Desktop PC and your Mac.

  14. Once logged in, you can sign into Microsoft OneDrive to access your files in the Microsoft 365 cloud storage, or you can reach your files from the COE network home directory (known as "U" drive - which will then be accessible from other student lab computers in the College of Engineering's network), or your data file(s) can be stored and accessed from your local computer's disk (named 'Local Disk' or "C" drive):

  15. When your work is done in the Virtual Desktop, please remember to log off/sign out from the computer, by clicking on the Windows START MENU button at the bottom, and select the circular icon with the silhouette of a person, then select "Sign out":
